This kit provides a separate bulb and socket (one for each side) that is installed into the red tail light area of the towed vehicle. It is powered by the RV and does not interfere with the existing towed vehicle tail light wiring. It provides taillight, brake and signal light functions. All the wiring and connectors are included to feed power from the front of the towed car to each individual taillight.  (Note: It requires sufficient clearance for the socket in the taillight housing. This 6 wire cable extension allows the left and right brake and signal, together with the tail lights to function when powered by the RV. I addition to a ground wire there are two additional wires which can be utilized for many purposes including transferring power to (or from) a braking system and/or providing power to charge the towed vehicle battery. Wiring is in a tough silicone covering and coiled to reduce damage. Two cable connectors are included to be installed on the towed vehicle and RV and both feature secure locking of the cable ends for trouble free towing.

This 4 diode kit allows the existing towed vehicle taillight & brake bulb (or LED display) to be utilized when towing. The kit consists of sufficient wire to run from the front of the towed vehicle to the rear and wiring to connect to the vehicle’s existing wiring to power the taillight and left and right brake light which can act as the turn signal. Diodes allow two power sources (RV & towed vehicle) to power a single bulb (or display) while preventing power from flowing where it should not, (i.e. from the RV into the towed vehicle’s wiring system). This ensures complete separation of the power sources. This kit is utilized where the towed vehicle utilizes LED displays for its rear light functions or where the size of the taillight housing does not permit the installation of an additional bulb.
